Chapter 4: The Visions

After arriving at that planet, where you could only see sand after sand, there was a sense of despair in the air between the 1 million others in the ship.

It would be a long day, the immense heat and the patrol made us fear for our lives, but deep down we knew that the life we left behind was far worse than this.

The Baron’s men made people crumble by just the eyes and the words said, their voices sounded like old orcs, their appearance was very similar to what we called troglodytes back in Earth, most of them were bald and had a dark and grayish skin.

Upon arrival at the mining facility something caught our eyes, the purple tones that were in the particles in the air, we didn’t know if we were meant to breathe it but as we weren’t given masks we kept going.

So the day started, the mining started at full power as the Baron’s men kept their eyes close to our actions to prevent a sudden rebellion. Mining was hard, we used tools like pickaxes but instead of steel they were made of obsidian, a purple so dark you could easily mistake it with black.

To mine the spice it was necessary to first break the imperfect redrocks into tiny fragments and then put it under translucent mercury to find the best and most pure materials.

After that the selected pieces were sent to the mining centrals that were controlled by the Baron’s men. If we were successful, then we would receive some rewards in the form of food, housing and Wallace Chips.

8 hours passed and we were still mining under the boiling sun of the solar system, I heard it’s called Canopnr’74, then I felt something hit my consciousness like a punch right under my nose, bringing me out of my body.

It’s started to change the way every color previously looked to me, sand was pink, my eyes were blue and the sky was green, I knew there was something to do with the spice we were mining at that planet, just didn’t know how..

Then, still in that state of “out-of-body” psychedelic consciousness I started being transported through space and time to places I knew that were so real I could feel the fear and the temperature of it.

Then a voice so heavy with an almost pressure to it started talking to me. It said:

All lies come from the past. All lies come from the future. Prescience is a gift you only hold, the cycle must be broken to bring an end to the great evil that surrounds us.

A place was brought to me.

A place so dark I could only see the lights of flying “Os” in the sky surrounded by obelisks floating from inside out of them, the energy of an upcoming storm and the terrifying sounds made me shake, I knew that I was going to visit this place in sometime, didn’t know when or how, but I just knew it.

The voice last words before I was brought to my physical body again were:

Don’t be scared little one, you just need to understand that inside your last home, Earth, exists a place where the final battle will be fought, a hollow and dark place.
